The game’s producer, Kazumasa Habu, said:

Habu mentioned reorganizing the development team on Twitter a few days before the announcement (as translated by Gematsu) and mentioned “refocusing” Digimon Survive’s development schedule.

Bandai issued a statement alongside the announcement, saying “Digimon Survive is a highly ambitious project and the development team is dedicated to providing fans with a complete experience at launch.”

They’ve shown that dedication already. Earlier in 2020, the Survive team said they were overhauling development because they thought Survive was turning out “sloppy.”

Digimon Survive combines a visual novel experience with tactical gameplay. It follows a group of young people transported to a dangerous new world and the Digi-partners who accompany them and balance their personality foibles.

So far, Bandai Namco has revealed:

Saki Kimijuma and Floramon Kaito Shinonome and Dracmon Miu Shinonome and Syakomon Shuuji Kayama and Lopmon
