The Stay Frosty Pulse Rifle is one of the better options in its category, with a few strong perk combinations and the inherent qualities that Stasis brings. This guide will cover the PvE and PvP god rolls for the Stay Frosty, so you always know what to grind for.

Stay Frosty Pulse Rifle PvE God Rolls

The Stay Frosty Pulse Rifle has some great rolls for both PvE and PvP activities, but its main strength is fighting the enemies of humanity rather than other Guardians. Even with PvP-focused perks, it’s outshone by other, more Crucible-minded options. To that end, here are the best Perk combinations you want in PvE for the Stay Frosty.

Best PvE Barrel

Arrowhead Brake or Corkscrew Rifling. Pulse Rifles don’t need much Range, but they can kick quite a bit, and Arrowhead Brake cuts heavily into the Stay Frosty’s Recoil stat.

The modest buff to Handling makes the gun easier to use overall. Corkscrew Rifling doesn’t have the large buffs but instead offers a small improvement to Stability, Range, and Handling, for an all-around upgrade to the weapon’s most important stats.

Best PvE Magazine

Ricochet Rounds and Armor Piercing Rounds. Ricochet Rounds will almost always be a top-tier choice, thanks to their modest buff to Stability, smaller increase to Range, and adding a ricochet off of hard surfaces. Armor Piercing Rounds are a great second option against enemy Shields.

Best PvE Trait 1

Encore and Killing Wind. Encore gives some extra Range, Stability, and Accuracy for every final blow, and using it against trash mobs will get that three-stack-maximum buff rolling quickly.

Precision kills are all about Range; any other final blows grant the other stat buffs. Killing Wind grants Mobility, Handling, and a bit of Range, plus it increases damage falloff distance.

Best PvE Trait 2

Desperado and Headstone. Desperado might have received a hefty nerf not long after its debut, but a 30% fire rate increase for six seconds after a precision kill is almost always too good to pass up. Headstone is one of, if not the best, choice when your build revolves around Stasis abilities, so it’s a solid second option.

Stay Frosty Pulse Rifle PvP God Rolls

The PvP god roll for the Stay Frosty looks quite like the PvE roll, with a few exceptions. It doesn’t have every PvP perk available, with the likes of Opening Shot or Swashbuckler being noticeably absent, but it makes up for that with all-around usability.

Best PvP Barrel

Arrowhead Brake or Corkscrew Rifling. Few better PvP options exist, and they work for PvE, too.

Best PvP Magazine

Ricochet Rounds and Armor Piercing Rounds. The PvE options are great for PvP as well.

Best PvP Trait 1

Moving Target and Killing Wind. Moving Target is about aiming down the sights, granting Aim Assist, and reducing Movement Speed penalties. Killing Wind’s bonuses to Range, Mobility, and Handling make it a solid second option.

Best PvP Trait 2

Desperado and Kill Clip. Desperado is a fantastic choice no matter where you use it, reducing the Stay Frosty’s time-to-kill and making it more consistent overall. Kill Clip is a solid alternative, offering a 33% damage buff for five seconds following a single kill and reload. Having Kill Clip active all but guarantees a second kill within that timeframe, provided your aim is fine.

There you have them; the god rolls for the Stay Frosty Pulse Rifle god rolls for PvE and PvP. While the weapon isn’t the best at either mode, it’s also not the worst at them.

You’ll often use the Stay Frosty and other Dawning weapons if you want the event’s title and gilding, so you’ll have plenty of chances to get the roll you want.
